JLR on "Need help with FTP Professional"

I'm very new at this. I am connected to my website. I tried to transfer files using IpswitchWS FTP12 Professional and when I drag the file to the box on the right it goes through the motions of uploading but when it's finished, the right box is still empty and listed as 0 objects, 0 bytes. But the file is listed in the transfer history. I tried everything and the outcome is the same. I tried dragging the file, clicking on the green button and the cut and paste but nothing works.
Please help.
